Being happy: Rockband night

Yesterday was the second ever Beatles Rockband night held at my house. Probably not too smart to hold it on a school night (I’m paying for it now) but we had a lot of fun. I’m so lucky to work with people that I still like after being around them for eight hours. :p

While I took the drums, Fleur, Ashley and Giles got the best singing score of the night! WTG

Being happy: It’s chilly!

(I started writing this yesterday but ran out of time.)

It’s the first chilly day we’ve had in Florida since summer began. John and I spent the whole day outside at the Winter Park Farmer’s Market and walking around Park Ave. We met Fleur, Ashley and Paul while we were at the market and ended up, unexpectedly, spending the whole day with the Parones. Fun times!

This is the first place we’ve rented that has had a fireplace, so we tried it out tonight. Unfortunately, it’s a little backed up, so we had to put it out. :p It was fun while it lasted.

Being happy: Woopsies!

Brought John out for dinner before the DJ Tiesto show. Jessy brought cake and candles… John’s turning 24. 🙂 Thought this was hilarious. Maybe you had to be there.

Being Happy

I’ve been going through a lot of emotional stuff this year. I can honestly say it’s been the hardest, most taxing year that I’ve ever had. I know there may be more to come (seeing as how I’m only 23), so I’ve decided that I need a way to stay creative and focused on what makes me happy.

For the next month I want to take a picture of something that makes me happy and thankful to be alive. If I choose to, I’ll write some words to go with my pictures, if not, I won’t.

I’m hoping this exercise will keep me grounded and remind me that everything I need is right around me.

So to start:
John opened the car door for me this morning as he often does. He’s done this for almost 8 years and I sometimes forget how lucky I am to have someone who cares enough to show such kindness every day. (Thank you, John.)
